RDVLF-Z40Y VLF HV Withstand Voltage Tester
Withstand voltage testing includes AC and DC methods. AC withstand testing mainly covers power frequency, variable frequency, and 0.1Hz very-low-frequency (VLF) technologies. As an IEC-recommended advanced testing method, 0.1Hz VLF technology offers excellent performance for high-voltage insulation testing. The RDVLF-Z40Y features auto-variable frequency true sine wave output (0.1–0.01Hz), real-time voltage and current waveform display, optical isolation, closed-loop feedback control, and overvoltage/overcurrent protection. With high-voltage side direct sampling, data storage, built-in printer, and portable design, it is suitable for on-site AC withstand voltage testing.

The difference between high voltage AC withstand voltage test and DC withstand voltage test
The withstand voltage test is crucial for testing high-voltage equipment, assessing its insulation performance and ability to withstand electric shock, ensuring its safety and reliability. It typically includes two types: AC and DC withstand voltage tests. These tests differ in principles and applications, which will be explained in more detail below.

Purpose and test method of AC withstand voltage test for transformer
The AC withstand voltage test is a destructive test in the insulation test. It can only be carried out after other non-destructive tests (such as insulation resistance and absorption ratio test, DC leakage test, dielectric loss tangent and insulation oil test) are passed. After this test is passed, the transformer can be put into operation.
