Wrindu Wins Ethiopian Electric Power Project Contract
Rui Du Mechanical and Electrical (Shanghai) Co., Ltd recently signed a new contract with ETHIOPIAN ELECTRIC POWER (EEP). The cooperation marks an important step for Wrindu company as we expand into international markets. It also strengthens our relationship with major power utilities in East Africa.
About ETHIOPIAN ELECTRIC POWER (EEP)
Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) is the national electricity generation and transmission company of Ethiopia. It produces and delivers electricity across the country, ensuring reliable energy supply. EEP was established to manage large-scale power generation projects. The company operates hydropower, thermal, and renewable energy plants, including the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, one of Africa's largest infrastructure projects.
EEP plays a vital role in Ethiopia's economic growth by providing energy for industry, urban development, and rural electrification. The company focuses on modernizing the national power grid, improving efficiency, and ensuring sustainable energy delivery to meet the country's growing needs.
Project Purpose
EEP will use these devices for Ethiopia's national grid upgrade and the maintenance of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD). These tools will help EEP solve long-standing challenges such as the shortage of testing equipment and delays in grid maintenance.
Furthermore, the cooperation allows us to bring high-quality Wrindu products directly to top-tier users. It also strengthens our brand influence in the African power industry.

This project serves as a major milestone for Rui Du Mechanical and Electrical (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. We now work directly with a national power grid operator in East Africa. Scope of Cooperation
Wrindu will provide testing equipment for transformers, switchgear, and instrument transformers. For transformers, we supply devices for turn ratio testing, winding tests, and related checks. For switchgear, we offer high-voltage switch characteristic testers and loop (circuit) resistance testers. For instrument transformers, we deliver comprehensive CT/PT analyzers and related test systems.
We will also provide technical training and on-site service to help EEP teams use the equipment efficiently. This support will ensure accurate testing and smooth maintenance work.
